Carlsbad Water Park plans to reopen for Summer 2021

The Carlsbad Water Park is traditionally open between Memorial Day and Labor Day and has been a source of pride in the community for several years now. Outdoor recreational facilities are allowed to be open at 50% capacity when you are “Green,” so we certainly believe we will be able to open this summer as long as we can keep the COVID-19 numbers down. We will still be required to complete an inspection in order to open, and we have reached out to the state to move forward with this process.

How can you help? We do need to fill all of our lifeguard positions for this summer. Our lifeguards protect both the water park and the Carlsbad Beach area. Our next training course will be April 10,11, 17 and 18. You must be at least 15 years old. There is a registration cost, but we will reimburse you if you become a city employee. For more information, please call Brad Alpers at (575) 302-0152.
