There’s a lot of talk around Carlsbad about Tuesday’s earthquakes. According to the Carlsbad Fire Department, there were three earthquakes in the area, all about 40-50 miles to the south near Mentone, Texas. There were 3.2 and 3.1 magnitude quakes at 10:34 a.m. and 3:34 p.m. respectively. Finally, the quake many people in Carlsbad felt was registered at 4.5 magnitude and recorded at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday night at a depth of around three miles.
We do not have any reports of local damage, and we have been informed that the earthquakes caused no issues to the brine well.
