Private family graveside has taken place at Woodbine Cemetery for Patrick Timothy Dooley of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Dooley, 72, died November 30, 2020 at his home in Artesia.
Patrick was born September 2, 1948 in Artesia N.M., the son of William Dooley and Sylvia (Kershaw) Dooley.
On July 25, 1986 he was married to Paula Johnson in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Patrick worked in the oil field business as his father before him and his Grandfather William Joseph Dooley, who was co-founder of Yates and Dooley Pioneer Real Estate And Oil Men Leases.
In 1924 William J. Dooley and Martin Yates Jr completed the Illinois # 3 well which become the first successful well in the Southeast Eddy County of New Mexico, also was the first commercial oil well on State Land in New Mexico.
Earlier on in his marriage to Paula he would like to rock climb, which came to a quick stop when he almost fell which ended the rock climbing. He did have an eye for rocks, old, odd shaped, any rock that caught his eye, it came home with him then the story would begin where he found this unusual rock.
Patrick continued working is oil wells until December of 1990 when he was in a horrific MVA, which ended his oil field business. Patrick went to Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell, New Mexico where he studied electronics and graduated in 1995.
Patrick continue to enjoy life in so many ways, one was his love for cooking, which I was thrilled for this. He would come up with such delicious meals, he even made hamburgers taste out of this world. He was the chef, I was the clean up lady, it was worth it.
He was an avid reader, there would be a couple of Science Fiction books by his recliner, by his nite stand, this man had the books.
One thing Pat enjoyed was conversations with my sister, Patty over politics. The telephone line was burning when those two got together. So thankful for my sister for she enjoyed their talks.
Pat shared a close personal relationship with God. He knew one day he would meet his Savior, he would be ready. God was merciful to him and too me.
