FocusDaily Obituary Slide 1

Valentin B.Molina, 90, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on October 17, 2020. He entered this world on March 15, 1930, in Jalisco, NM, born to Valentin and Josefa Molina. At age 13 his father passed away unexpectedly and Valentin became head of the house being the oldest male. He accepted that challenge willingly helping his mother raise his brother, Manuel and his sisters, Juana, Maria, Cuca and Manuela. Valentin served in the U.S. Army, after which he met and married Patricia Bustamante in 1952. The couple resided in Artesia where their three children were born. Our mother became very ill early on spending months in the hospital and Valentin had to raise the young family; be the only wage earner and care for us.

Valentin worked in construction for many years for Jordan Construction. He built a house for his family where they lived and the family grew up in. After retirement, he worked part-time for the Senior Citizens Center in Artesia as a transportation driver, a job he stated he liked because he could help people.

Valentin passed away at Lakeview Nursing Home in Carlsbad New Mexico after dealing with dementia for a long time. In life, he not only worked to support his family, but he took care of our Mother until her death in 2004. He was truly the kindest, most caring, selfless person we know, and we will miss him and his friendly personality. He continued to be the matriarch and rock for his siblings and his family.

He is survived by his sisters Juana Dominguez, the oldest of 4 sisters and his younger brother Manuel Molina and his three children, Ruben Molina, Virginia Ortega and Thelma Williams, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother Josephina Molina, his sisters Manuela Molina, Maria Leyva and Cuca Carrasco and his wife Patricia Bustamante.

Graveside services will be held at Woodbine Cemetery on Thursday, October 22nd at 10:00 am The family would hope that you can attend but wants to express their concern over safety during this pandemic and asks that you stay safe and practice safe distancing.
