Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Church of God for Lydia M. Rodriguez of Hobbs, New Mexico.
Mrs. Rodriguez, 77, died August 21, 2020 at Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs, N.M.
Pastor Cornelio Martinez will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Ybarra ll, Matthew Rodriguez, Isaac Rodriguez, Nicholas Rodriguez, Steven Rodriguez, Bobby Ray Rodriguez, Joshua Martinez, Jeremiah Rodriguez and Abraham Munoz.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Tuesday, August 25, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
Lydia was born November 26, 1942 in Carlsbad N.M., the daughter of Isabel Melendrez and Maria (Rodriguez) Melendrez.
On March 6, 1960, she was married to Abel G. Rodriguez in Carlsbad. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her father Isabel Melendrez, her mother Maria Rodriguez Melendrez, her brothers Enrique Rodriguez, Cruz Melendrez, Gilbert Melendrez, and Sammy Melendrez. Also by her daughter-in-law Lisa Rodriguez, who she seen as her daughter.
She is survived by her sister Elena Olguin and husband Eliseo of Artesia N.M.; brothers Rudy Melendrez and wife Bertha of Carlsbad N.M., Jerry Flores and wife Marie of Carlsbad, Danny Melendrez of Carlsbad, Johnny Duran of Artesia; children Juanita Muñoz from Belen N.M., Lorina Ruiz and husband Lupe of Carlsbad, Viola Rodriguez of Carlsbad, Rosemary Martinez and husband Cornelio of Hobbs N.M., Abel Rodriguez Jr. of Artesia, Linda Longoria of Carlsbad, and Bobby Rodriguez from Lubbock TX. She had many grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces, nephews, and cousins that made up her great family.
