After discussing the matter at length, we do believe that it is vital that we continue the discussion, but we realize that an in-person event would not be possible at this time.
Therefore, we have decided that this year’s Carlsbad Mayor’s Energy Summit will be an online broadcast to a virtual audience that remains in compliance with all health orders.
The event is tentatively scheduled for 9-11 a.m. (MST) Sept. 24, with the viewing information to be announced soon. It is our plan to broadcast a small number of expert speakers who will provide important updates on the critical role Carlsbad and Eddy County play to national energy independence and where we will go from this point. This education event will include a presentation from Eddy County about road improvements and other developments.
Even though it won’t be the same as our traditional annual summit, we’re very excited about this opportunity to still provide information from a community that is at the epicenter of one of the biggest oil and gas resources in the world.
We will also be bringing back our “Spirit of the Oilfield” awards this year and honor several of our local hardworking men and women.
Please stay tuned for details, as we look forward to having more information to very soon. Of course, we also look forward to a time soon when we can all meet again in person.
