Today, the Northgate Unit of Lakeview Christian Home broke ground on a new addition to their current facility in Carlsbad, NM. From what was once an old hospital, they have created a four-phase plan to develop and update their care delivery for seniors and disabled.

The ground-breaking ceremony on July 7th, was to commemorate stage 2 of this expansion plan, The Puckett Place. Named after the founding father, Dr. Owen Puckett the building will provide assisted living in a home like setting.  The 16,000-square foot skilled nursing unit will provide 24 additional beds for the elderly and those with long-term medical needs.

Lakeview is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that receives support from donors all over the Southwest. Many locals help us provide a continuum of care to seniors and the disabled. That care includes Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, Hospice and Independent Living.

Home Health and Hospice services allow us to branch out to all ages and to provide services in people’s homes all over Eddy County. However, our primary focus is seniors. Our nursing facilities allow us to care for seniors with all types of diagnoses including dementia, Alzheimer’s, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, etc. Skilled Nursing allows us to rehab people from a hospital stay back to their homes.  We have an excellent Physical Therapy department that is also able to follow people from Skilled Nursing back to their homes under Hope Care, reassuring that they are able to maintain their independence. -Lakeview Christian Home, Focus Magazine
