Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, June 26, 2020 at Upper Hope Cemetery for John Larry Casabonne of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Casabonne, 71, died June 22, 2020 at his home in Artesia surronded by his loved ones.

Larry was born September 24, 1948 in Roswell, N.M. to Johnny Casabonne Jr. and Nellie May Lang Casabonne.

Larry grew up on his families sheep ranch in Hope, New Mexico. He loved everything about the ranch life. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1967. He loved the outdoors, whether it was working in his garden, landscaping, welding, building entire buildings, carpentry, or fishing he enjoyed it all. He was a self-taught pilot and also built his own plane. Larry loved to laugh and tell jokes. He was an amazing story-teller, and he never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Bowmen and his son John DeWayne Casabonne.

Survivors include his son Paul Julian Casabonne; daughters Melinda Jones of Florida and Regina Casabonne of Artesia; and numerous neices, nephews, and grandchildren.
