In a letter from Mayor Dale Janway we learned that an employee of Carlsbad Medical Center has tested positive for COVID-19. According to CMC, the individual who tested positive was quarantined home immediately upon symptom onset and remains in isolation.  Working in coordination with the Department of Health, the hospital has identified and contacted any potentially exposed employees or patients. CMC tells us they have since tested 190 additional employees, and all results came up negative. The hospital said the will continue to provide employee testing as needed, and assured us that procedures are in place to ensure everyone’s safety, such as infection control protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control.
