A note from Jeff Youtsey:

“As I have committed to you, I have some information to pass along concerning Covid-19 as it relates to our community. At the request of the Governor, today the City of Artesia staff, Mayor and Council constructed an “opening back up” plan that we feel fits our town and less affected area of the state. At our regular Council Meeting tonight it was officially presented to the entire, full Council.

After any recommendations for change are considered, the plan will be forwarded to the Governor and the NM Municipal League for review. Hopefully our plan will appease any concerns she may have over our full ability to handle this issue as a community.

I personally like the plan and feel that it gets us back on track to eventually return the city to where we were pre-Covid. More to come soon, but please know that your Council and Mayor take this very seriously and are working through it as best we can.”
